The Kharkiv National University has a 200 years long history. Founded in 1805, the university has been the breeding place for some of the most respected and qualified medical professionals. Alexander E. Braunstein, one of the “fathers of vitamin B6”, studied medicine at the University in 1920. In 1974, the university became a foreign member of the United States National Academy of Sciences.
Kharkiv National Medical University is one of Ukraine’s most prestigious medical institutes. It has 65 departments and each department is well equipped with modern classrooms and technology to offer students an excellent learning environment. It is one of the few universities in Ukraine to have received the highest 4th category accreditation for excellence in medical science education. The university started training international students in 1951 and since then 3,600 foreign students have earned specializations in diverse streams from the university.
