The history of Jiangsu University goes back to 1902 with the start of Sanjiang Normal School. Over the next couple of years, following a series of name changes, it evolved into its current form via the merger of three prominent institutions.  These three institutions: Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Zhenjiang Medical College, and Zhenjiang Teachers’ College combined as the Jiangsu University in 2001, nearly 100 years after its inception in 1902.

      Get Invitation Letter

      Next, the university will issue an invitation letter and the Visa Application Form(JW202) in your name. Once you receive the JW202 form, apply for a VISA at the respective Chinese embassy in your region.

    Eligibility Criteria: Jiangsu University

     

    To enroll for the 6-year MBBS course at Jiangsu University, a candidate should meet the following criteria:

     

    1. Must be between 17 to 25 years of age.
    2. Must have scored a minimum of 50% or more in PCB(12th standard)
    3. Must have completed 12th standard in Science stream(English only)
    4. Must have appeared for the NEET qualification exam.

    MBBS Syllabus at Jiangsu University

    JSU offers a 6-year MBBS Program. The first 5-years are dedicated to academic learning. The final year is a mandatory internship. Each academic year has two semesters. Students are assessed at the end of every semester. Here’s a brief overview of the MBBS course:

    First Year: Subjects taught during the two semesters include Histology, Embryology, & Embryology.

    Second Year: The second academic year covers subjects like Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Histology, General Pathology, Micro-Biology, Physiology, Cytobiology, Anatomy, and more.

    Third year: Subjects taught during this academic year include Genetics, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Pathophysiology, Microbiology, and Principles of Clinical Medicine.

    Fourth & Fifth Year: The remaining two years are dedicated to learning a wide range of subjects. Some of the primary ones include Primary Care Medicine, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, ENT, Psychology, and Cardiology.

    Sixth Year (Internship): Finally, after the completion of the 5 academic years, students are required to attend 1 year of internship at a University-approved hospital. This is the time when students gain first-hand experience of the life of a medical professional.

    Should I prepare for IELTS/TOEFL/ PTE?

    No, there is no need to appear for IELTS or TOEFL. All you have to do is prepare for the NEET qualification after completing your 12th standard. JSU accepts admission based on the NEET score alone.

     

    Do I need to learn Chinese?

    No, the MBBS course is in English from start to finish. There is no need to learn Chinese. The medium of teaching for international students at JSU is also English. However, there is no harm in learning basic level Chinese as you would be staying in the country for at least 6 years.
