    Eligibility Criteria: Dhaka National Medical College

     

    Unlike other global medical colleges, the admission criteria at DNMC are very student-friendly. There is no need for students to appear for TOEFL or IELTS. To enroll at the MBBS course, a candidate must fulfill these simple criteria:

     

    1. The candidate must be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission.
    2. The candidate must have scored at least 50% in PCB(12th standard)
    3. The candidate must have completed 12th standard in English medium
    4. The candidate must have appeared for the NEET qualification exam.

    Admission Intake: Dhaka National Medical College

    Medical aspirants can apply for either summer or winter intakes. The application process for summer intakes begins in January. The classes commence in March. Students should try to complete the application process as early as possible. 

     

    The winter batches start in October. The university accepts new applications from March-end on wards. Ideally, invitation letters are issued to selected candidates within two weeks from the receipt of the application. So, completing the application process within the first few weeks itself is always an advantage.

    The duration of the MBBS course at Dhaka National Medical College is 5 years. The course is further divided into 4 sub-phases. Exams are conducted at the end of each sub-phase. Here’s a brief overview of the syllabus taught during the 4 phases:

    Phase-1 (1 Year and Six Months)

    Subjects taught during the four terms include Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Research Methodology, Histology & Micro-technique, Geometry, etc.

    Phase-2 (1 Year)

    Subjects during this session include Community medicine, Forensic medicine, Preventive medicine, Histology, Psychiatry, History Of Medicine, Biochemistry, etc.

    Phase-3 (1 Year)

    The third session covers subjects like Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Micro-Biology, Pathology, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Psychiatry, Parasitology, Pediatrics, etc.

    Phase-4 (1 Year Six Months)

     

    The fourth and final session covers topics such as Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Ophthalmology, and several other allied subjects related to Pathology, Histology, and more. 

     

    The university also pays equal emphasis on practical training. MBBS students are required to undergo 1-year internship at university-affiliated medical centers.
