MBBS Duration at UIB International Medical School

The course duration of the MBBS program at UIB International Medical School is 5 years. The program offers students the opportunity to start training at govt. hospitals as early as the third year itself. Students can also practice medicine at private hospitals.

The first year of the 5-year MD program offers students a holistic understanding of the History of Medicine, Human Anatomy, Histology, Pathology, Medical Biology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, and Genetics.

The second year of the course covers non-clinical subjects as well as practical training. Students learn about General Surgery, Normal Physiology, Virology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Economics, and Logics.

The third-year course is when the students have the opportunity to gain practical experience at a university-affiliated hospital. The theoretical curriculum continues uninterrupted parallelly. Students learn about Pathology, Physiology, and Path Physiology, Microbiology, General Surgery (with Operative Surgery and Topographical Anatomy).

The fourth year is focused on practical training as well as academic learning. Topics covered during the year include Medical legislation, medical psychology, Forensic Medicine, Psychiatry, Narcology, Physiotherapy, Medical genetics, Emergency Neurology and Psychiatry, Medicine of extraordinary situations, etc.

The fifth and final year covers Internal Medicine, Professional diseases, children’s infectious diseases, Neurosurgery, Clinical pharmacology, Children’s surgery, Oncology, Infectious diseases, Fundamentals of Dentistry, ENT, Paediatrics Surgery, Gynaecology, etc.
