Founded in 1944 by F.M. Lazarenko, Orenburg State Medical University is revered as the gold standard for  MBBS studies in Russia. The university has been the preferred destination for MBSS and other medical courses among students from all over the globe. To be eligible for admission into this fine institution, a candidate should have completed 10^th and 12^th with a reputable education board. It is mandatory to get 50% in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 50% in English is also required, as the medium of instruction is in English. 

The candidate, under no circumstances, must be less than 17 years of age before the application process is commenced. The applicant must be of sound health. He or she must not be suffering from any contagious disease such as tuberculosis, AIDS/HIV. 

The candidate is required to clear the NEET examination. Submission of TOEFL/IELTS scores is not essential for admission into this university. The applicant must have a passport.

The university offers an extremely diverse range of courses. The courses are curated in an extremely efficient manner according to the requirements of modern medical science. They seek to provide exceptional medical knowledge to their students. The various courses offered by the university are as follows: 

The duration of the MBBS course is 5 + 1 years. Five years of dedicated theoretical academic training and one year of internship. The course is designed to cover all aspects of knowledge and technique. 

The first year consists of basic human anatomy and histology.  

The second-year covers a multitude of subjects such as biochemistry, histology, anatomy, cell biology, microbiology, pedagogy, physiology, general pathology. 

The third-year is similar to the second year, but a higher level of the earlier subjects is considered. The subjects include Histology, cell biology, microbiology, physiology, anatomy, genetics, pharmacology, path physiology and principle of clinical medicine. 

The fourth and fifth year is extremely crucial. These years are solely dedicated to learning for application in life. They cover oncology, physiology, emergency medicine, paediatrics, neurology, cardiology, general surgery, path physiology, obstetrics and gynaecology. 

The sixth-year consists of a compulsory internship that the student must undertake. The university is affiliated with eighteen clinical hospitals around the city, where the interns are sent. They are supervised by professionals and experienced professors.

The admission procedure for international students is a little different from the admission procedure for Russians. International students have the opportunity to be a part of the summer or winter intake. 

The application procedure starts in June. A large body of students chose the winter session. It is wiser to be a part of the winter intake as the candidate gets a lot of time to prepare himself/herself for the university.

The invitation letter or the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is sent within two weeks of the submission of the application form by the candidate. The admission procedure generally starts in September or October.
